Hicking Buildings, Nottingham
for Saxon Developments

This award winning mixed use development of 275 apartments and 80 bed hotel above basement car parking for Saxon Homes is an exciting extension to Nottingham's City Centre.

The site is located close to the station on London Road and consists of several conjoined buildings all forming parts of the premises that were originally used by Messrs. Hicking and Pentecost (now the Hicking Group) for the manufacture and processing of textiles. The project is a gateway in to Nottingham on one of the main arterial routes in to the city.

The existing substantial four storey brick buildings were constructed in 1873 and have been systematically refurbished and brought into the 21st century. Two storeys in lightweight cladding and glazing have been added to the roof. A newly-built corner block of contemporary design along with stairtower insertions into the existing fabric create a successful mix of old and new. The project completed in June 2006.

The project started on site August 2003 and completed in June 2006.
