Dining Block Refurbishment, Bournville
for Cadbury Trebor Bassett

Following a successful working relationship with Stanton Williams on No 4. Brindleyplace in Birmingham, Weedon Partnership llp were appointed to act as Executive Architects on Stage 1 of this project, which saw the blending of new and old to transform an existing listed dining block into a state of the art facility.

Stage 2 saw Weedon Partnership llp appointed directly by CTB and, working closely with Interior Designers, completed the Category A and B fit out.

The scheme houses 700 employers, with flexible meeting spaces that are capable of being linked to provide a 100 seat seminar room, interiors that can be adjusted to different work patterns, catering facilities providing a minimum of 500 covers in two sittings, a generous "Cadbury Cafe" within the main atrium area and large floor plates with raised access floors accommodating state of the art comfort cooling, electrical, voice and IT services.

The interpretation of the original Stanton Williams concept has created a first class flexible office building with an elegant and functional main entrance, dramatic atria and light-wells that draw natural daylight into the deep office space.

The building was occupied in June 2008 and has since been awarded:

  • Civic Trust Award 2009
  • RIBA West Midlands Award 2009
  • BCO Regional Corporate Workplace Award 2009
