Weedon Partnership llp were appointed by Castlemore Securities Ltd to carry out a technical audit and negotiate planning constraints on a previous planning permission for a contemporary residential scheme in Bell Green, Sydenham

The design was based on having 156 residential units in an increasing vertical spiral to create an internal landscaped courtyard and a bold shell-like façade which would graduate vertically and wrap around the entire envelope. Weedon Partnership llp rationalised the structure and spatial arrangement to provide optimum apartment layouts and incorporate affordable housing within one building mass. Separate free flowing forms for commercial units framed the development and created a public realm which addressed the scale and orientation of the site.

3D modelling determined structural buildability to a standard module which could then be adapted to suit one-bed and two-bed apartment layouts within a framework of set criteria and without interrupting the constant structural arrangement.
